Hun aanbod is ongewoon genereus – jij catalogiseert dit organisme, bepaalt hoe ze het kunnen gebruiken en brengt het terug zodat ze er hun patent op kunnen zetten. Redelijk routinewerk. In ruil daarvoor geven ze je een leuke baan als afdelingshoofd, zorgen ze voor een boekcontract en zorgen ze ervoor dat het instituut van jouw keuze je een vaste aanstelling geeft. Heb ik het geld al genoemd? Er is veel geld. Simpel onderzoek, steekproeven en analyses. Lijkt te mooi om waar te zijn.
Natuurlijk is het dat ook.
Heart of Darkness is een compleet filmscenario voor het officiële ALIEN-rollenspel, geschreven door sciencefictionromanschrijver Andrew E.C. Gaska. Het is een op zichzelf staand avontuur, maar dient ook als afsluiting van de Draconis Strain Saga die begon in het filmscenario Chariot of the Gods en werd voortgezet in Destroyer of Worlds. Het scenario is ontworpen voor 3-5 spelers plus de Spel Moeder, en is een spiralende afdaling in zielsverpletterende waanzin.

– Een enorme dubbelzijdige kaart (formaat 864x558mm) van het Erebos plasma trawling ruimtestation.

In exchange, they’ll hook you up with a cushy corporate department head position, secure you a book deal, and make sure the institute of your choice gives you tenure. Did I mention the money? There’s a lot of it. Simple survey, sample, and analysis job. Seemed too good to be true.

Heart of Darkness is a complete Cinematic Scenario for the official ALIEN roleplaying game, written by sci-fi novelist Andrew E.C. Gaska. It is a stand-alone adventure, but also serves as a conclusion to the Draconis Strain Saga begun in the cinematic scenario Chariot of the Gods and continued in Destroyer of Worlds. The scenario is designed for 3–5 players plus the Game Mother, and is a spiraling descent into soul-crushing madness.
